NOME meeting Dublin

NOME had a well-attended meeting during the Dublin congress. Last year we settled on  ´Raising awareness for Montessori´ and ´Quality issues´ as our leading topics for this year as well. These topics were presented by Emma Rattigan and Helen Prochazka. Emma presented what she does in her school, the Montessori Art School in Edinburgh, Scotland. Helen’s presentation focused on curriculum and standards mapping, also in Scotland. Montessori education in Scotland may not be all that big, the level of the presentations was such that all attendees were impressed.

The final part of the meeting was devoted to Erasmus projects. ME would like to promote European Montessori schools to form partnerships and apply for Erasmus grants. ME is willing to support these projects in a role as facilitator. Attendees of the meeting were asked for suggestions for topics that might be of common interest.

To be continued, hopefully!

NOME is a forum for national organisations in Montessori Europe to exchange ideas and inspire one another. It is the follow-up to NOCME. A national organisation is any organisation that has a nationwide reach. In other words, NOME participation is not restricted to the national Montessori assocations.
